Sony is sanctionative cross-play support for Rocket League these days. This currently permits PS4 Rocket League players to play against gamers on Xbox One, Nintendo’s Switch, or Steam laptop players. Sony had antecedently restricted Rocket League cross-play to simply between PS4 and laptop, and Rocket League developers Psyonix discovered it had been waiting on Sony to prevent obstruction cross-play. Sony eventually backed down on each Fortnite and Rocket League cross-play with a replacement volte-face last year.

The policy modified followed months of pressure on Sony from each fans of Fortnite and Rocket League to change cross-play support in each titles. Rocket League developer Psyonix is sanctionative cross-play by default, and a future update will permit players to party up across platforms. Players are able to produce personal matches to specifically partner up with friends till the update, otherwise it’s random matchmaking across PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
