Meghan Markle will be escorted on her wedding day by her father, Thomas Markle, as she ties the knot with Prince Harry, Royal Spokesman announced on Friday.
This report comes a day after her 51-year-old half brother, Thomas Markle Jr. claimed the former Hollywood actress sidelined her family.
In a statement by Windsor Castle, Thomas Markle and the bride-to-be’s mother Doria Ragland who are divorced will join Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip in Britain, days before the wedding.
The statement read, “Both of the bride’s parents will have important roles in the wedding.
“On the morning of the wedding, Ms Ragland will travel with Ms Markle by car to Windsor Castle. Mr Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle.”
On Thursday Thomas Markle Jr, half-brother of the US actress, accused Meghan in an open letter of Ignoring her family, adding that it was not “too late” for Prince Harry to cancel the wedding.
AFP reported the Spokesman saying, “Around 2,000 members of the public have been invited into the grounds of Windsor Castle, and will arrive from 0900 GMT for the 1200 GMT service.”
Prince Harry and his fiancee will be briefly separated during the eve of the wedding and will meet with crowds outside during the wedding on May 19.
Preparations are already being put in place to see that the wedding is a huge success.
